William "Willie" Adama, born William Adams, was a Tauron-Caprican. He was named after his grandfather, William Adama, who was killed in the Tauron Civil War.

Willie grew up in Caprica City as a naturalised Caprican, and for much of his childhood went by the surname "Adams".
