Vela was a human resident of Equellus, a planet inhabited by an off-shoot of the Twelve Tribes.
Biography[]
As Equellus was separated from the Twelve Tribes over the course of the Thousand Yahren's War, Vela grew up unaware of the Cylons. When a battle took place over Equellus, she nursed a Warrior, Marten, back to health. Falling in love, the two lived together and had a child, Puppis. Some time later, Marten was killed by a surviving Cylon from the battle, which was malfunctioning and following orders from local criminals under the name "Red Eye", leaving Vela to look after her son with her brother, Boötes.[1] Years later, a small skirmish took place over the planet, resulting in Cpt. Apollo crashing his Viper just outside Vela's ranch. She helped hide him, and in return he destroyed "Red Eye", saving her from the gang members.
