Sire Uri was a Galactican politician who was a well known figure before the Battle of Cimtar.
Biography[]
When the Cylons destroyed his colony, Uri escaped onto Rising Star. His wife, Siress Uri, equally renown, failed to make it to the ship in time and was left behind and presumably killed by the Cylon landing parties. Soon after, Uri was appointed to the Council of the Twelve, and celebrated with a party on Rising Star. Despite a food shortage taking place, this party was closely guarded by security, and only attractive young women were admitted. The party was raided by Cpt. Apollo and Lieutenant Boomer, who had their food redistributed to the starving masses, the former of whom admits that arresting the selfish Uri or better yet, throwing him to the wrath of those masses is tempting.[1]
In the first meeting of the new Council of the Twelve on Galactica, Uri took a dominant role and rejected the ideas of Commander Adama, the new president, who wanted the fleet to travel to Carillon. Owing to the food crisis, Uri insisted instead on going to Borallus, in spite of it being known to the Cylons. He was then shot down by Apollo, who argued otherwise.[1] Soon after the arrival at Carillon, the Council of the Twelve was contacted by the Ovions, who had settled on the planet and had welcomed Galactican tourists for some time. Lulled into a false sense of security, Uri gave in to their requests to visit, and gave out visitation permits to half the refugee population. Soon it became aware the Ovions consumed Galacticans as a food source and had set up their world partly to entrap them.[1]
Notes[]
- The novelization of "Saga of a Star World" written in partnership by Glen A. Larson and Robert Thurston, reveals that Uri was originally from the planet Leo, one of the twelve colony planets.
