Commander Trenell was an officer in the Colonial Fleet, who survived the Fall of the Twelve Colonies onboard the Battlestar Pegasus.

Biography[]

Following the assassination of Admiral Helena Cain, Trenell was promoted and served Commander Jack Fisk as Executive Officer. Following Fisk's own assassination weeks later, Trenell assumed the duties as Acting Commander, with Captain Renner his pick for XO.[1] Trenell did not last long in the position, and Adama made the decision that chief engineer Barry Garner be put in command over the surviving officers.

Behind the Scenes[]

  • Trenell is only mentioned in a deleted scene from the episode, "Black Market". As later episodes imply Pegasus only had three COs prior to Leeland Adama, it can be assumed Trenell meeting with Admiral William Adama did not result in his promotion as expected.
  • Trenell was originally planned to be the next in line of Pegasus' failed Commanders who would lead to Apollo taking over. Trenell's command would have differed from Garner, but ultimately causing the same kind of deterioration of authority with Trenell instead being too focused on preserving a "nice guy" image.[2]
