Taba was a Borellian Nomen who was living in the Twelve Colonies of Man at the time of the Battle of Cimtar. Like the others, he resided on a ship shared by the majority if not the entire population of Borellian refugees.[1]
Biography[]
During the fleet's search for Earth, the Borellians were victim to a can by Chameleon, a Galactican posing as "Captain Dimitri". In spite of his young age, Taba was sent out on a "blood trail" with Bora and Maga to hunt him down. The three tracked Chameleon to Rising Star, where they found him in a bar. Taba's premature activation of a "laser bore" weapon compromised the situation, losing their enemy and in spite of claims of an accident the three were ordered off the ship. For this he was chastised by Maga for his failure to uphold their people's code - that weapons are not to be taken out unless they are to be used.[1]
The three waited at the shuttle bay, deliberately missing their own in the hopes of intercepting Chameleon. This, however, got the attention of several of Galactica's Warriors, who confronted the three over this. When Maga was accused of this deception, Taba was quick to defend his leader's honour, though by taking out another laser bore he had again broken their code and was sabotaging the mission. For this, Maga had Taba dishonoured with his name stricken from their roster, and would not allow him to return to the Borellan ship.[1]
