2004 Continuity

Striker was a colonial Celestra-type research vessel. Couple of days after the ragtag fleet finds the mythical planet of Kobol the Striker collides with a fuel tanker Daru Mozu, while Captain George "Catman" Birch is performing the role of CAG for the Galactica. While the strikes appear to be undamaged, Daru Mozu's wireless goes silent and they go into an uncontrolled spin after the collision, forcing Galactica to dispatch a repair team to the vessel.[1]
