Puppis was a Galactican from the planet Equellus, a world settled on by Galacticans but independent of the Twelve Colonies of Man.
Biography[]
Puppis was born to Vela and Marten. While Vela came from a ranch-owning family with limited access to Colonial technology, Marten was a Viper pilot serving in the closing yahrens of the Thousand Yahren War. The two met when Marten crash landed near the ranch following a battle, and Puppis was conceived soon after. During Puppis' early childhood Marten was killed in a laser fight with "Red Eye", a defective Centurion survivor of the same battle, leaving Vela to rely upon Puppis to look after the ranch. Red Eye meanwhile collaborated with local criminals in gaining control of the region, and confiscated any Colonial weaponry that could be a threat to it.[1]
As Puppis reached the age of ten, this lack of technology contributed to increasing predation by Lupus, which was now a threat to livestock across the region. Forced to improvise, Puppis spent his evenings riding out with Strider hoping to take one down with his pneumo gun. During one night, Puppis took notice of a Viper crash while returning, and rode on to greet its surviving pilot, Cpt. Apollo, and was helpful in convincing him to defeat Red Eye.[1]
