Pallas is a planet in the Cyrannus Star System orbiting the star Helios Beta. Icarus is the second planet of its sun and in the distant past might have supported life. The planet is no longer tectonically active and most of its atmosphere has escaped into space. Colonial efforts to kobolform the planet has so far failed, however, several colonies and a military station are present on the planet.

History

First Cylon War

By the 1st Cylon War, Palas was already the subject of three failed kobolforming attempts. Several massive kobolformers were stationed around the planet, providing support for surface habitat domes, housing thousands of civilian and military personnel. The third, and largest kobolforming attempt is considered to be one of the instigating factors of the Imperial Wars, between Leonis and Virgon, about some years before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies.

During the second half of the war, the planet came under attack by Cylon forces. Multiple explosions across the surface knocked over half of the planet's pumping stations offline, causing an air shortage in the domed cities. BSG-75 alongside Lieutenant Sherman Cottle was dispatched for relief effort.

While preparing for atmospheric entry, Battlestar Group 75 was ambushed by a Cylon Fleet, causing a significant delay in emergency response, and deaths of thousands of civilians.
