(Battlestar Galactica 2004, Caprica and Blood & Chrome)
Lieutenant Margaret "Racetrack" Edmonds was an officer in the Colonial Fleet, who survived the Fall of the Twelve Colonies onboard the Battlestar Galactica.
Biography[]
In the first month after the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, Lieutenan Edmonds performed the role of Electronic Countermeasures Officer, and took part in a mission to detonate a nuclear bomb inside of a Basestar orbiting Kobol.[1] Lieutenan Edmonds was assigned to the mission as Lieutenan Sharon "Boomer" Valerii's ECO due to the unavailability of Alex "Crashdown" Quartararo. Following the mission, the two met with Commander William Adama in Galactica's CIC for congratulations on the successful mission, but when Lieutenan Valerii shot Commander Adama - exposing herself as a Cylon agent - Lieutenan Edmonds was equally suspect by Colonel Saul Tigh.[2] Several months later, Lieutenan Edmonds took part in a voluntary SAR mission to Caprica with the intent of rescuing a guerrilla force based in the mountains. A miscalculation when jumping sent her Raptor orbiting over a habitable planet, which was dubbed New Caprica by the civilians in The Fleet.[3]
Lieutenan Edmonds was one of several pilots who were convinced to join Felix Gaeta's mutiny and participated in an assassination attempt on Leland Adama, a former senior pilot who was then Caprica's representative on the Quorum of Twelve. When the mutiny failed, she was placed in a cell with the other mutineers, but was offered freedom in exchange for taking part in the attack on The Colony. During the Raptor raid, Lieutenan Edmonds was killed when a small asteroid collided with the Raptor. Having died with her finger over the missile launch console, a later collision jolted her body to press it, leading to The Colony's destruction in a series of nuclear blasts.[4]
