Layne Ishay was a paramedic in service of the Colonial Fleet. She survived the Fall of the Twelve Colonies on board the battlestar Galactica, and served under Dr. Cottle. When Commander William Adama was seriously injured in an assassination attempt, Ishay was crucial in keeping him alive when Dr. Cottle was found to have left the ship.[1]
