Kobol is the ancestral homeworld of humanity.
History[]
Kobol suffered a major disaster during the rule of the Ninth Lord of Kobol, and its cities were ravaged starting with Eden. The Thirteen Tribes abandoned the planet and colonised dozens of planets, twelve of whom travelling through a void. Though a number of people survived, including a group who attempted to rob the Ninth Lord's tomb, the planet was lifeless by the seventh millennium. Following the Battle of Carillon, Galactica and its fleet travelled through the void and discovered the planet as part of Commander Adama's search for Earth.[1]
