(Battlestar Galactica 2004, Caprica and Blood & Chrome)
Jacob Cantrell was a Sagittaron refugee who escaped the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, and went on to serve his colony as its representative on the Quorum of Twelve at some point following the Battle of New Caprica.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
Biography[]
Cantrell was a critic of President Roslin's stance on the Demetrius mission, having maintained the stance of no-comment for over three weeks, and accused her of enabling fake news stories about it being a food source mission.[1] During the same meeting he expressed concern over continued problems with the supplying of medical supplies to Sagittarons.[1]
Death[]
Following the arrival of the Rebel Basestar to the Fleet, internal politics became increasingly unstable, and before long Vice President Tom Zarek was detained for supporting insurrection. This coincided with internal problems on board Galactica, resulting in an attempted coup d'etat starting with mutiny. Zarek was released from his cell and brought onboard Colonial One where, in the absence of Roslin, sought to cement his authority as President. Cantrell made clear his opposition, which was supported by the other delegates in attendance, bar Delegate Leland Adama who was absent. Zarek responded by having civilian dissidents shoot Cantrell and the other ten dead.[7]
