2004 Continuity

Hitei Kan was a Daru Mozu-type refinery ship ship which escaped the Fall of the Twelve Colonies as part of a refugee fleet led by Galactica and Colonial One.

History[]

A tylium processing vessel, the ship was crucial to the fleet's fuel supply. After the exodus from New Caprica, the workers declared a general strike, aiming for better working conditions and leave. The strike was eventually resolved by Galen Tyrol and his union which originated back on New Caprica.[3] Later that year, the ship is used in false maneuver in order to confuse Cylons about the Fleet movement, when Caprica Six reveals that the Cylons are tracking the ship, thanks to its unique radiation signature stemming from combat damage.[4]

During fleet wide FTL enhancements with Cylon technology, the crew aboard Hitei Kan mutinied and killed a Cylon and two Marine escorts, causing Galactica to scramble assault raptor with MARDER alert team. While the ship jumped away, it was revealed that they did so under a suggestion from Vice President Zarek. Later the ship was secured by a flight of five raptors, when Zarek revealed its coordinates under Adamas interrogation.[5]
