(Battlestar Galactica 2004, Caprica and Blood & Chrome)
Lieutenant Hamish "Skulls" McCall, was a Raptor ECO who escaped the Fall of the Twelve Colonies onboard the Battlestar Pegasus.
Biography[]
Whether McCall served in the Colonial Fleet prior to the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, or was trained on Pegasus in the months after is uncertain. He was however a fully trained ECO when the mission to rescue members of Samuel T. Anders' resistance on Caprica was approved. The mission roster was entirely voluntary, and McCall was paired up with Lieutenant Margaret "Racetrack" Edmondson and a team of marines. A miscalculation in the Raptor's computer led to the Raptor jumping to an uninhabited planet far off-course and the crew returning to the fleet. This planet would later be dubbed New Caprica, and was the site of colonial settlement for the following year.[1] The colony was eventually discovered by the Cylons, and the fleet was forced to escape, leaving behind the settlers. McCall was not on the planet at the time and took part in four months of retraining to assure the quality of the remaining military forces. He and Lieutenant Edmonson had other assignments during this period, and would spend time over New Caprica, monitoring the planet for communications by any resistance cells. They were eventually successful in picking up a transmission and jumped back to the fleet to report the new developments.[2]
Following the destruction of Pegasus over New Caprica he was permanently stationed on Galactica, and became Lieutenant Margaret "Racetrack" Edmonson's ECO. McCall was one of the pilots who was recruited by Lieutenant Felix Gaeta, and assisted in the smuggling of Vice President Tom Zarek onto Colonial One. Returning with Lee Adama, he assaulted the Caprica delegate. Soon after, however, he was shot in the leg by Cpt. Kara "Starbuck" Thrace.[3]
