The Global Defense Department (GDD) was a Caprican law enforcement body in operation before the founding of the United Colonies of Kobol. Sometime before 58 BCH, the GDD was infiltrated by members of the Soldiers of the One, a monotheistic group known to have committed terrorist attacks on Caprica in the 70s BCH. When the STO began a new wave of bombings, the GDD investigation was interfered with by agent Gara Singh on behalf of the group.[1]
