The Ghost Fleet is a colonial fleet that was created by the Admiralty for ships that were presumed destroyed/lost in battle against the Cylons during the First Cylon War.

First Cylon War[]
During the war, many ships including battlestars were presumed lost or destroyed in battle against the cylons, which includes the battlestar Valkyrie and the heavy cruiser Loki. However, unbeknownst to the general colonial public and the Cylons, many of these ships weren't lost, but were in fact selected to form a secret fleet behind the Cylon lines. Once given the order, the fleet of supposedly-destroyed ships would carry out a surprise attack on several key locations within Cylon-controlled space, aiming to deal a critical blow against them.
