Gemini was a large Galactican cargo transport ship. Following the destruction of the Twelve Colonies of Man at the hands of the Cylon Empire, Gemini was launched over-capacity with refugees. Due to state of this emergency, Gemini was not in fact spaceworthy and required urgent maintenance to prevent a radiation leak. A team from Galactica was sent by Shuttle to assess the maintenance and evacuate seriously-wounded civilians.[1]
