The Exodus of the Twelve Tribes was a catastrophic period in human history which resulted in the abandonment of Kobol and settlement on Gemenon.
History and historicity[]
Because of the technological dark age that befell the Gemenese colonists, information regarding the exodus is fragmentary. What is known comes from a variety of sources largely from the Sacred Scrolls. The Colonial calendar uses the Exodus as its starting point, equating to 2000 years of time between the exodus and the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. This was backed-up by preliminary archaeological studies on Kobol conducted by Galactica, which estimated the City of the Gods to have been destroyed in a catastrophe approximately 2000 years prior.[1]
