Equellus was a planet in the Hatari system, settled on by human offshoots of the Twelve Tribes.
History[]
Equellus's society was located distant from Colonial space and independent of the Twelve Colonies of Man. Though its people had some knowledge of Colonial civilisation and occasional contact, they were not on close enough terms to maintain their technology and they drifted towards a low-tech, agricultural stage of development, and had no knowledge of the Cylons or their war with the Colonials.[1] Ten yahrens prior to the Battle of Cimtar, Cylon and Colonial patrols battled over the planet, with two survivors emerging from crashed wreckage. The Colonial Warrior, Marten, was nursed back to health and married a local named Vela while the Cylon, dubbed "Red Eye", became a servant of a local criminal named Lacerta after its corrupted programming identified him as the Imperious Leader. Following the Battle of Cimtar, Colonial officer Apollo also crashed on the planet. He fought and killed Red Eye, allowing its people to remove Lacerta from power.[1]
