Battlestar Galactica 2004, Caprica and Blood & Chrome
"Ice Moon" Djerba is an icy stellar body located in Sector 12. By the 60s BCH, Djerba had a limited human presence and was the site of a winter resort. It was captured by Cylon forces early on in the Cylon War, and by 42 BCH (YR58) was deep enough within their territory there was no permanent naval defense. Djerba became a crucial target during the Ghost Fleet Offensive, owing to its Cylon Communications Systems; a Marine Special Operations Forces unit was sent to the surface but was quickly killed by the planetside Cylon detachment while the pocket Battlestar Osiris sacrificed itself in the battle with a Basestar passing by on its patrol run.[1]
During 40s BCH, the planet was used by the Cylon in their attempts to create biological forms, most notably a snake-like creature, encountered by the crew of Raptor 909.
