1978 Continuity (Battlestar Galactica 1978 and Galactica 1980)

Lieutenant Dillon was a Warrior who served on Galactica late into its journey to Earth.

Biography[]

Whether Dillon was born in the final days of the Thousand Yahren War or was born a refugee in the rag-tag fugitive fleet is uncertain, though when he grew up he is known to have joined the Colonial Fleet, where he was trained as a Viper pilot. During his career he became a close friend of Cpt. Troy, the adopted grandson of Commander Adama.[1] Their career for some time was uneventful, owing to a change in Cylon planning to shadow the fleet, convincing many the Cylon threat was purely theoretical.[1] This theory was forced into standard procedure following the discovery of Earth, which was determined to be technologically and politically unfit to resist the Cylons. Over a dozen Warriors were assembled and sent out to various parts of Earth with orders to influence the development of technology; Troy and Dillon were assigned to influence technological development in the United States.[1]

Soon after their arrival, the team's Vipers were detected by US military aircraft, spawning a military investigation, and though they had the technology to camouflage their Vipers the power cells soon died and were discovered by a stray child. Troy and Dillon in the meanwhile had trespassed in the Pacific Institute of Technology, where they were mistaken for eco-terrorists and arrested after interfering with Dr. Donald Mortinson's machine equations. The two however escaped their cells and later met up with Mortinson and a reporter, Jamie Hamilton, where they brought the two to Galactica to explain their situation.[1] While there it was discovered a rogue scientist had stolen a Viper equipped with a time-travel device, having planned to give advanced space technology to Nazi Germany. Dillon, Troy and Hamilton followed in a similarly-modified Viper and were able to sabotage the project.
