The Cylons were a humanoid reptilian race who went extinct over a thousand years prior to the Battle of Cimtar. They were known for the heavily manufacturing of sentient mechanical beings, later known as Cylons in their place.
History[]
Very little is known of the Cylons other than that they ruled a vast empire during the fifth millennium. They may have encountered Count Iblis, a renegade Being of Light, as their eventual creation, the Imperious Leader, borrowed his voice.[1] The Cylons were apparently overthrown and wiped out in a genocidal rebellion by their own advanced robotic creations. Under the Imperious Leader's leadership, the Centurions, IL-series and other robotic beings continued to run the Cylon Empire in place of their creators.
