Battlestar Galactica 2004, Caprica and Blood & Chrome
Captain Cole "Stinger" Taylor was a Viper pilot and a CAG of Battlestar Pegasus, who survived the Fall of the Twelve Colonies.[1]
Biography[]
Like many of Pegasus' officers, Taylor is stern and humorless, viewing the Galactica's crew as somewhat emotionally compromised. He believes that Commander Adama's son, Lee, owes his position as CAG to his father's influence rather than his own merit.[1]
When Admiral Cain orders Captain Adama's transfer to the Pegasus, Taylor demotes him to a Raptor pilot for a recon mission to an unidentified Cylon vessel. During the mission, tensions arise between the crews of Galactica and Pegasus. Following Cain's orders, Taylor holds Adama at gunpoint amd relieves him of duty. Adama then covertly communicates with Starbuck aboard the Blackbird, who has just completed an unauthorized recon of the Cylon ship.[1]
After the initial conflict subsides, Admiral Cain reviews Starbuck's reconnaissance photos. Impressed by her daring and the quality of her work, she promotes Starbuck to Captain and assigns her the role of Pegasus CAG, replacing Taylor. Taylor had failed to detect the covert actions of Starbuck and Apollo.[2]
Later, Stinger is imprisoned for disrespecting Commander Garner, Pegasus's new commanding officer. It remains unclear when he is released after Garner's death, or his status after Pegasus' destruction.[3]
