Synopsis[]

While on monitoring duty inside their Vipers, Starbuck and Boomer are surprised to be over taken by the Colonial Movers tug piloted by Jolly. By using an Okaati Harvester ship as a booster, the tug is now able to match Galactica's top speed. Some time later, Jolly is reporting the success of their test to the Council of Twelve, who react very enthusiastically. Parrin enters with grave news: her workers have decoded a message from the Cylon outpost they raided for fuel. The message is put up on a viewscreen, and shows Baltar informing all Cylon outposts that they have allied themselves with the Comitat, and that no Cylons should interfere with their vessels. Colonel Tigh ensures Adama that the message is genuine, as it bears Baltar's identifier. Parrin warns that the combined forces of their enemies is most likely going to counterstrike them in the Narrows, an area where intense clouds offer few paths of escape. She then proposes to connect an Okaati Harvester as a booster to every Colonial ship so they can outrun their enemies. Adama thinks it will take too much time, but she is certain they can do it in forty centars. Other Council members agree with her plan, and Adama gives Parrin permission to continue. She promisises to sponsor a great party for the Colonial officers after their work is finished, and asks Adama why Apollo has been absent for some time. Adama only replies that his son has been indisposed. Starbuck wonders where Apollo has been as well, and tells Adama that Grust has taken to drinking a lot of Ambrosia with him at night, and seems to be upset about something. He also notices Parrin scolding Grust from a distance.

Apollo has been taken to the Comitat's floating headquarters known as 'the Node' and imprisoned in cell fifteen on prison deck two-five-seven. When one of the Comitat warriors enters his cell, Apollo ambushes him and escapes. He is swiftly recaptured by Thane Korbok who uses an electrical weapon to stun the Colonial warrior. Apollo says he's been waiting forever, and Korbok explains it takes a long time for the Comitat to come to a decision. Korbok explains that 'Thane' is a title instead of a name and that the first two sorties the Colonials faced were merely scouting parties. Back at the Colonial Fleet, the conversions have been completed even faster than planned, and Parrin is holding her celebration aboard the Rising Star. Tigh explains that Commander Adama cannot attend and gives the poor health of his son as an excuse. Starbuck is a late arrival. Cassiopeia has been waiting for him, and he says he always has trouble finding a landing bay on the Rising Star. They spot Grust crawling out from under a shuttle, drunk with Ambrosia. Grusk reveals he has been demoted by Parrin and laments what his people have become. Starbuck fails to understand the meaning of Grust's garbled words. When Parrin orders all Okaati personal fleetwide to withdraw to their Harvesters for a data operations check, Grust tells Starbuck and Cassiopeia that's the clue.

On the bridge of the Galactica, Adama and his crew wonder about the meaning of Parrin's order as well. Adama skipped the party in order to try to make contact with Apollo without Parrin realizing he was gone. He does not intend to leave the sector without Apollo, unless the Cylons or Comitat actually force them to. Starbuck, Cassiopeia and Grust reach Colonel Tigh and try to tell him they are walking into an Okaati trap when all of the Colonial ships except the Galactica suddenly move away at increased speed. The Galactica is left alone as Parrin contacts Adama to tell him that the Okaati do what they must to survive. This includes stealing entire fleets. It is she who has been in league with Baltar all along, and has promised to deliver the Colonial fleet to the Cylons in exchange for all the Tylium they will ever need.
