Synopsis[]
Adama is troubled about his decision to cross the Emphyrean Expance against the Kiernu's wishes. Indeed, the Kiernu are under attack from Cylon forces led by Lucifer who claims they should be punished for letting the Colonial fleet pass through. The bridge crew of the Galactica is surprised to learn that Apollo, Starbuck and Boomer are leading more than a hundred larger vessels back to the fleet. Okaati representative Parrin requests a meeting with the Galactica's commanding officer. She lands her Okaati tug on top of one of the Galactica's landing bays, as it does not fit inside. The Viper pilots recount saving the Okaati from Comitat drones, whom Parrin describes as their mortal enemies, the same as the Cylons to the Colonials. She then suggests that Adama takes a shuttle to the Okaati fleet. Before leaving, Adama expresses his concerns to Apollo and Starbuck about leading an entire fleet of unknown people to the Galactica.
Aboard the shuttle, Parrin explains that they have been on the run for millenia, while the Colonials have only been traveling for a relatively short period of time. She then introduces the Colonial to the most common ship in the Okaati fleet, the Harvester. As they gather more building materials, the Okaati expaind the number of their Harvesters as they travel. When Adama inquires about the Comitat, Parrin replies they are slavers who use their drones to disable the Okaati vessels. The Comitat want the Okaati to work for them, building ships. Refusing to work for slavers, the Okaati chose to run instead. Suddenly, three Comitat frigates arrive. Thane Korbok, First Enforcer of the Comitat declares the Collonials guilty of aiding the Okaati and interfering with the rightful acts of a Comitat hunter. He demands them to surrender the Okaati over to them. Parrin orders all Okaati vessels to begin powering their star drives. The Comitat deploy their Bladeships and attack the Okaati fleet while the Colonials can only watch. Adama orders Tigh to launch Vipers and target the drone ships. Tigh replies he is unable to deploy fighters, but just in time Silver Spar Squadron, led by Lieutenant Sheba, arrives and joins the battle.
Parrin is impressed by the Colonials action and confesses that her people have been lacking warriors. She asks Adama if they could join forces and travel togehter. Adama appreciates the offer, but is aware he already has the Cylons to deal with, and declines. Back in his quarters, Adama is horrified to learn from Sheba that the Kiernu have been annihilated by the Cylons. Adama realizes he brought this down on the Kiernu and feels he has been too cautios in trusting other races of late. He decides that the Colonial Fleet and the Okaati will unite after all.
Thane Korsok is on his way back to the Node when he learns that the Comitat have been contacted by the Cylons. Their representative, Baltar, suggests that they join forces against their mutual enemies.
