Wiki design update
Hey guys, Forerunner here. Just wanted to introduce you to Wikia's new layout, the "FandomDesktop". To view it, all you need to do is:
- Go into your Preferences page.
- Select the "Appearances" tab
- Tick the "FandomDesktop" box
- Select "Wiki Preset" if you want to see the wiki's version. Otherwise choose either other option.
Presently we're still testing it out so be sure to request any alterations you feel are necessary.
Image updates
I've installed a new feature so when you upload an image to the wiki you will be pressing a button to assign it to a category automatically. If there's any problems with the feature, be sure to alert me! I've also obtained a Blu-ray drive for my PC - finally - so I'll be able to take higher res images of the show soon.
Movie update
As some may recall, the Battlestar Galactica movie has been in development hell on and off since 2009, owing to accusations against Bryan Singer and a further four-year stall under Francis Lawrence (not sure why there). Universal has tried once more to do a film, and with Simon Kinberg now attached to write, direct and produce.
While the earlier proposed films were loose remakes of the 1978 Saga of a Star World film, we have yet to know if Kinberg will stay with that idea or pitch a film tying with Esmail's new TV show.

Galacticast now being added to pages
Hey guys, Forerunner here. After several months of no success, we've finally made headway with embedding Spotify on the wiki. All reimagined series articles will over the next day be updated to include the Galacticast podcast so readers can listen while reading.
Ron Moore podcast links
For the convenience of new users who want to listen to podcasts while doing re-runs, here are Ron D. Moore's original podcasts of the show as they aired. Unlike Galacticast, he goes deep into the production side of things, such as re-writes. Take note that he only started doing it midway into Season 1, so the episodes before Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down weren't recorded.

Battlestar coming to BBC2 and iPlayer
In a surprise announcement this week, viewers in the United Kingdom will be able to watch the Moore-era Battlestar Galactica series starting Saturday 5 September with the Miniseries.
- Things to note
- Though the BBC has no ads, they will not be airing the
extended episodes as telefilms and will conform to SyFy's re-run
versions.
- BBC will get the 45 minute version of Pegasus - not the 1hr version.
- Razor will be aired at the start of Season 4 as a two-parter.
- Daybreak will air in three parts.
- BBC has not bought the rights to "The Plan" or the Webisodes.
- There appears to be no fixed timeslot for the show
- Episodes will air only on BBC2's "HD" service, and only in England. Viewers in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and those without HD-support, will have o…
Battlestar Galactica now on Peacock
For those not yet aware, NBCUniversal's new streaming service - Peacock - has gone online in the United States, and will be hosting the 2004 Battlestar Galactica series, with the Miniseries and The Plan. It will also be where American fans can watch the upcoming revival series, but we are yet to get a date for that.
If you're in the US, check out Peacock's official website!
Updated on New Battlestar production!
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, producers Sam Esmail and Michael Lesslie has talked about his work on NBC's new Battlestar Galactica series to be made for their Peacock streaming service. Here's notes to summarise:
- Sam Esmail is a big fan of the 2004 series and respects Ron D. Moore's science-fiction writing style, but admits to not being good at hard sci-fi. This was why Michael Lesslie was made Showrunner instead.
- The series will have modern analogues akin to how the Miniseries drew inspiration from 9/11 -"what do we say about today's world". Esmail also loves The Little Drummer Girl and how Michael Lesslie did an interesting story that had political elements but didn't stop the story in its tracks.
- The series is intended t…
Sorry for limited editing
Hi guys. Just wanted to say that due to problems with hanging service provider I haven’t been able to be heavily active since the start of the month. Long story short, I’m using phone data until a fibre optic cable gets hooked to the telegraph poll. That’s scheduled for Monday 25th. In the meantime feel free to list any problem reports in the comments section so I have an idea what to fix when I have time.
New Battlestar announced
The Battlestar Galactica Wiki will soon be expanded by yet another addition to the multiverse. NBC's new streaming service will come with a reimagined Battlestar Galactica TV series.
Information is scarce, but what we do know is that it is not within the continuity of the BSG'78-Galactica 1980 continuity, or the Miniseries-BSG'04-Caprica-Blood and Chrome continuity. It being a new universe was confirmed by Sam Esmail.
How do military serial number work in the colonial fleet?
so I have been wanting to get some colonial military tags made, to go with my command uniform, and BDU's. and i want to get the serial numbers athintic as i can; does anyone know the rythem or ryme to them.
for example, i was thinking that adama's tags begain with a 2, as if perahps caprican citizens who join the calonial fleet, start with a 2, (as in an indication of what planet in 12 they came from. then looking at Dee's serial number which begins with the number 3, which kinda makes sense, as she is sagiarun, and would be one number next to caprica, as in the zodiac sag, and cap, are next to each other. but then noticed that saul is also a 2 and he is from Aeralon, so that didn't mactch up, accept for perhaps the fact that he joined arou…
Staff blog: Editor update
I've removed a line of broken coding from MediaWiki:Common.js that was preventing users from editing articles in Visual Editor. It's been there a while but since I normally edit via the AutoWikiBrowser I wasn't aware it was anything other than an occasional glitch. I'm editing perfectly fine in test-mode, so within the next day or so the update will available to everyone.
Under new management
Hi folk, Forerunner. I'm one of the new admins over at the Battlestar Galactica Wiki, along with MechQueste. As many are aware, this wiki has been administratively-inactive for several years, leaving it unable to truly take advantage of the large Battlestar Galactica fandom - especially with the demise of Battlestar Wiki. We hope to change that in coming time.
Any user requests can be submitted as blog comments underneath.
Adoption
Hello,
I am MechQueste. I am requesting to adopt this wiki. This wiki
needs some improvement with content and this requires administrator
tools. Thus, I am seeking administrator and bureaucrat tools. What
do you think?
