Synopsis[]
"Dreams of the Thirteenth part one"[]
Technician Xam wakes to his wake up alarm going off after having a vivid dream about the fleet's destination, Earth. He is late for his duty on the launch deck. The fleet is pressing deeper into the uncharted territory known as the Storm Zone. The Quantum effects being caused by the storm are under discussion during a meeting of Adama's most trusted officers. Colonel Tigh mentions that the Ariadna's still ailing and falling behind, but he does not want to lose the ship after all he's been through with her. Senior Psychiatrist Doctor Madusa has identified unusual spikes in the Colonials. Nine people aboard the Galactica report recurring dreams of Earth, as do eighty-eight more from the fleet as a whole. Concernintly, each one has been having the precise same dream. Adama suspects it might be a by-product of the Quantum Storm.
Later, Starbuck and Xam are practicing shooting Cylons at the Laser Range. Xam admits he hasn't been sleeping well because of the dreams of Earth. Apollo is making breakfast for Boxey, during wich the boy also mentions having the same dream. Starbuck, as Blue Leader, is in charge of three other Vipers on patrol: Breena, Greenbean and Hightail. Breena asks Starbuck about his interest in Dr. Madusa, while he in turn flrts with Breena. Hightail is tired and easily triggered, as he also has been having dreams of Earth. Back aboard the Galactica, Apollo tells Colonel Tigh that the fleet needs to turn back and exit the Storm Zone. Athena and Adama arrive on the bridge while Apollo explains he suspects the storm is playing Quantum tricks on the Colonial's brains. Athena agrees they should turn around, but Tigh is not so sure. Adama thinks the best thing to do would be to turn around, but still thinks they should press on, because he himself has also had the dream.

- The artwork of the ships in space, as well as that of their interiors, are mostly photographs that have been filtered to appear like comic book art rather than actual drawings.
- To indicate that several Colonials are sharing the same dream, a three panel page featuring images of planet Earth is used three times, albeit with different dialogue captions, over the course of the issue.
- The Laser Range was first mentioned in the original series episode Murder on the Rising Star.
- Colonel Tigh uses the EArth measure of time 'years' when he mentions 'light years'.
