Synopsis[]
Apollo reports in his Combat Log that despite the many differences between this reality and his own, Baltar, or Baltifer as he is known here, will always betray the Colonials. As the Cylon Raiders attack the Colonial guerilla base on the planetoid known as Cache, Captain Starbuck keeps the Battlestar Galactica invisible to Cylon sensors using his Sensor Shield. On the bridge, Lieutenant Starbuck is recovering from being hit on the head and again tries to convince his other self to take an active part in the proceedings. Dr. Zee confirms that both Apollo and their former prisoner Starbuck are from an alternate timeline, and both crossed over in their T-Drive modified Vipers. Baltifer finds the idea of another entire reality to conquer very intriguing. Zee notes that transferrence between realities would be hazardous, as the previous crossing took place during a temporal storm. It would be difficult to duplicate the conditions and impossible to control. Apollo interjects, saying he can recreate the event if Baltifer calls of the slaughter of the Colonials below. Baltifer enjoys the fact that Apollo is willing to betray his own kind by leading the Cylons to his own reality and suspends the attack. On the planet below, Boomer, Serina and others are surpised but relieved to find the attack broken off.
Soon, Apollo is back aboard his mofified Viper. Zee has copied the precise tachyon patterns from this Vipers flight recorder and will use the Basestar's Chronal Weapons to duplicate those patterns and recreate the time storm. Apollo launches his Viper, which has various Cylon Tech Drones attached to it. He encounters the recreated storm, and Zee tells Apollo to fly directly into the eye of it. As he does so, the T-Drive starts to overload, but then receives word over his comlink that help is on the way. Captain Starbuck has finally decided to join the battle and the Galactica is attacking Baltifer's Basestar. Baltifer is shocked and orders a counter attack against the humans, the Battlestar as well as Adama's imediate execution. Adama remains vigilant in the face of death, but suddenly all the Cylon Centurions begin to malfunction. Captain Starbuck has used newly developed anti-cylon weapons against the Basestar. However, the efects will only last a few minutes.
The resistance base launces all it's Vipers to support the Galactica. One of the Vipers is piloted by Serina, but Apollo tells her to stay back as he is unable to shut down his T-Drive and it is about to explode. Serina tells him to eject, but the tech spiders have locked his canopy. Lieutenant Starbuck appears, flying his modified Viper, and shoots all the Tech drones off of Apollo's ship. Apollo ejects the cockpit from the rest of his ship, which explodes and triggers another temporal warp. Starbuck swings by to pick up Apollo. The Vipers begin aiding the Galactica against the Basestar as the Cylons start to shake off the effects of the Anti-Cylon weapons. Adama uses one of the Centurion's riffles to shoot Baltifer in the face. He then orders the helpless Zee to open all the holding cells. The human prisoners aboard the Basestar grab Cylon weaponry and follow Adama's orders to take over the Basestar. Starbuck and Apollo are sharing the last remaining modified Viper when Adama announces the Basestar conquered and the battle over. At that moment, the Time Rift erupts and transports all vehicles in the vicinity to Apollo and Starbuck's original reality.
In the Colonial's original timeline, a Cylon Raider launches a suicide run against the Galactica. In Dr. Wilker's laboratory, the temporal battery overloads. Commander Adama notes that Apollo and Starbuck have disappeared and Colonel Tigh adds that the temporal shockwave wiped all of the Galactica's systems, leaving it dead in space for at least an hour. As the Basestar moves in for the kill, a temporal rift opens to reveal another Basestar and a duplicate of the Galactica exiting it. Starbuck and Apollo call in from their shared Viper, while the divergent reality versions of Starbuck and Adama pledge their aid with their own Battlestar and commandeered Basestar. They target the Cylon Raiders and manage to destroy the Cylon's Basestar. The rift begins to close again, giving the divergent Adama just enough time to say farewell to Apollo. Serina and Captain Starbuck also share some final words with Apollo and Starbuck.
Back aboard their own Galactica, Apollo and Starbuck are surprised to learn that only moments have passed in this reality, while they hve spent more than tree months away. Zee feels confident he can repair the burned out Temporal Battery, but Starbuck rebukes him, stressing that time weapons are not worth the risk. Adama asks what Apollo has experienced in his time away. His son replies that the other reality was pretty much the same, albeit bleaker. The experience showed him that now matter how tough it gets, the Colonials are on the right path and must never give up.

Behind the Scenes[]

Notes[]
- The Colonial Viper pilot helmets are illustrated with a lightbar only at the top. The lower lightbar is missing.
- Baltifer reacts surprised when the Battlestar Galactica is revealed, yet in the previous issue, he mentioned the 'invisible Battlestar' several times.
- Captain Starbuck uses the Earth measure of time 'minutes' instead of 'centons'.
- Apollo ejects the entire cockpit of his modified Viper while the rest of the ship explodes. Starbuck somehow manages to pick up Apollo and have him enter his own modified Viper while still in space.
- Colonel Tigh uses the Earth measure of time 'hour' instead of 'centar'.
- Starbuck discourages Dr. Zee from continuing to work on his Temporal weapons, which would indicate that this comic book takes place in a different continuity from Galactica 1980, in which Zee perfected time travel. As noted previously, Starbuck and Zee both being on the Galactica at the same time already contradicts the episode The Return of Starbuck from that series.
- Despite Adama's goatee and the presence of Zee on the Galactica indicating that a substancial amount of time has passed since the end of the original series, Apollo is reunited with Boxey at the end, and the boy does not appear to have aged at all.
