Synopsis[]

Apollo and Starbuck are in their modified Vipers and wonder where the Galactica has gone. Suddenly it reappears and they nearly crash into it, but before they realize it, the Battlestar is gone again. Appolo concludes that what they just saw was a time mirage. Starbuck looks for the nearest place to land and finds a Colonial resupply and ammo dump on Q-Cashe #2702. They hurry to get there before their Vipers flame out as it is the only location in range they can reach. However, they are unaware they are being tracked by the Cylons, who report their findins to their leader, Lord Baltifer, who notices the two Vipers are not of the standard design. He wishes to inspect them, so the Cylons launch a squadron of Raiders from their Basestar.

Approaching their destination, Apollo and Starbuck notice that the Hypergiant Sun's solar flares is messing with their ship's sensors. Because of this, they are do not see the Cylon Raiders coming until they are almost upon them. Running low on ammo and power, Starbuck tries to lose his attackers by skimming the Hypergiant, but loses consciousness. One of the Raiders captures the modified Viper in a tractor field and returns to the Basestar. Apollo uses the Hypergiant's gravitational field as a slingshot to boots his stardrive and crashlands on the planet. Surrounded by volcanos that spew liquid methane, Apollo finds a hidden door inside a rocky formation and a wall numbered 7202. He notices that the number differs from the one his Viper indicated, 2702. Suddenly, he is attacked by laser fire and suspects the Cylons have found him.

Starbuck wakes up, still inside his Viper, which is maneuvred into a Basestar landing bay by the Raider which has it in a tractor field. He gets out and surrenders to his captors. As they lead him away, he notices tiny Tech Drones examining his Viper, and tells the two Centurions at his side that it tampering with his ship might cause it to blow a hole through time. Starbuck acts cocky when he notices several human prisoners. The Centurions thrown him into one of the cels, which is already occupied by a bearded man with a gut, smoking a fumarello. The man refuses to identify himself when Starbuck asks his name. Apollo is outgunned by several humans wearing scavenged Cylon parts as armor. When he recognizes them as Colonials, one of them, a bald black man, answers that there are no Colonies no more. They bind his hands and take him inside their guerilla base. There are several Vipers in various stages of repair. The black man explains that even young children help to refit the salvaged ships so they can keep fighting the Cylons. Apollo, who finds the black man's voice very familiar, is taken to a makeshift office which appears to be furnished with chairs and computers taken from a Battlestar. He is told the boss wants to meet him. Apollo is startled to recognize the man standing before him as Adama, but wearing a pilots uniform and with three large scars on the left side of his head.
