Synopsis[]
"We Are Legion"[]
Several Cylon Raider are docking in the Galactica for a meeting under a truce. Sgt. Jolly tells the other warriors to study the ships up close while they can. Lucifer meets with the Quorum of Twelve and thanks them for agreeing to this. Tigh is representing Adama and can barely keep his rage anger for the Cylons under control. Lucifer reveals that his forces were attacked by othe Cylons, whom he suspects must have entered the Black Hole years earlier and have been changed and strenghened in the process. Tigh guesses that the new breed of Cylon decided to destroy the inferior model. Sire Domra asks for some time to take Lucifer's request for sanctuary into consideration. He expresses disappointment to Tigh about the absense of Adama, to which Tigh replies that the commander is otherwise engaged at the moment.
Adama is still in a dream-state on the bridge of the Galactica in the past. Apart from himself and Count Iblis, all other crewmembers are stuck in time. He demands that Iblis release his crew, but instead they begin to turn to ashes and dust, leaving only skeleton forms. Iblis states that Adama and his people have insulted him. He admits to be the creator of this nightmare realm. When Adama asks if Iblis also created teh black hole and an entire universe beyond it, Iblis replies that he will use his power to punish the Seraphs, who the first to insult him and exile him and his kind. The Galactica is to be the key to his revenge. Adama tries to contact Apollo by telepathy. On the planet, Apollo senses his father's attempt, but only briefly. Baltar states that it is possible, since Adama was trained in telepathic communication during his time in the Colonial Military Institute. Starbuck mentions tells Baltar that the demonic looking skeletons near the crashed starship are the same they saw they encountered Count Iblis previously. Baltar agrees that this planet must be a hell of Iblis' devising. Boomer, who had the least amount of contact with Iblis previously, wonders if he is capable of such things, but Apollo and Sheba remind him that Iblis was not just a man, but Diaboles himself.
Starbuck has an idea to get off this planet. When the new Cylon Raiders pass the Colonials during their next fly-by, Starbuck and Boomer try to get their attention by waving their arms in the air. The Raider lands and several Cylons exit, with weapons drawn. They order the Colonials to surrender and say that if they do, they will be integrated into the Meclon Empire withou further pain. Starbuck and Boomer pretend to surrender while the other Colonials await the perfect time to make their move. Apollo and Sheba oper fire on the Cylons, or Meclons as they now call themselves. Boomer and Starbuck hit the ground, and Starbuck almost loses his weapon, but still manages to take out a few Meclons after he recovers it. A third Meclon ships turns round to attack the Colonials from the air. Apollo is forced to take cover, but Sheba manages to shoot it down with her laser. After Starbuck and Boomer shoot the last remaining Meclons on the ground, Sheba is shocked to discover a human inside the Meclon armor. She concludes that this place truly must be hell.
The Colonials want to leave this planet as fast as possible, and Apollo insists on taking Baltar along, for he seems to have the most knowledge about the surroundings. When Baltar asks what will happen to the others, Boomer says that they really have entered an upside down kind of universe if Baltar is more worried about someone other than himself. Apollo promises to send shuttles for the other survivors as soon as possible, before getting distracted when Adama tries to contact him again. Soon, Starbuck is piloting one of the confiscated Meclon Raiders and Apollo the other. Sheba and Baltar are in Apollo's ship, and she reports two more Meclon ships coming after them. However, Starbuck destroys the two incoming ships before Apollo can do anything. Baltar surmises that the reason the Meclons were partly organic must be because they had to scavenge and use whatever they could to build their army. He is sure that someone must have taught them how to bolster their forces. As he speaks, a production line of organic Meclons is shown, being overseen by Count Iblis.
As the two stolen Meclon Raiders approach the Colonial fleet, they are surprised to see familiar Cylon ships just cruising around, acting friendly. Several Vipers and Raiders team up to attack the Melcon ships, but Starbuck sends a subspace signal to the Galactica that says "Don't Shoot us. If you let us dock, cigars and drings will be on me." They are allowed to dock, and when Colonel Tigh meets them in the docking bay, he is surprised to see Baltar among the Colonial Warriors. Apollo asks him to gather the Quorum, as they are almost certain who is behind all their troubles. Tigh agrees and leads them to the council chambers, explaining that they've just offered sanctuary to the Cylons. Baltar greets Lucifer and Tigh explains that the Colonials have agreed to help protect the Cylons from a threat that even they fear.
