Synopsis[]
"Snake in the Garden"[]
Cylon Raider Delta 1 has engaged their new enemy, a more advanced version of Cylons. At Supreme Command on his Basestar, Lucifer still refuses to believe they are facing other Cylons, but the viciousness of their attack begins to change his mind. When his Basestar starts to take damage, Lucifer orders all Raiders to defend the Basestar so it can withdraw from the confrontation.
On the unknown planet, Apollo, Starbuck, Sheba and Boomer are still staring at the giant crater, which Starbuck suspects may have been there for thousands of years. They are surprised when Baltar emerges out of the crowd of aliends of all kinds of different species that have gathered near. Starbuck asks Baltar how he got there and Baltar explains that after he was left on a desolate planet by Adama, he was eventually found by a mysterious being who told him to come towards him and escape his prison planet. The next moment, he found himself on this mysterious planet. He reveals that most of the other beings present have more rational stories of how they got there, such as falling through the black hole and crashing on the planet, which is surrounded by derelict ships that often fall from the sky. Suddenly a squadron of Cylon Raiders swoops down from the sky. These are of a kind none of the Colonial Warriors have ever encountered before. They run back to their Vipers, but the Raiders have already destroyed the Colonial craft before they get to them. As one of the Cylon Raiders lands on the planet, the Colonial Warriors take cover behind some rocks. Starbuck wants to have a closer look at the craft, which may be their only way off the planet. Apollo orders both Starbuck and Sheba to get out of sight, but Starbuck has caught a glimpse of a new version of Cylon exiting the Raider.
Adama is still in a coma and reliving the attack on Caprica in a dream like state. He is amazed to see a Ship of Light arrive on the scene. It causes all the Cylon Raiders are frozen in space. Adama states that this is not the way it happened before and suddenly, Count Iblis appears on the Galactica's bridge out of nowhere. Iblis agrees that these events never happened, but they could have if the Seraphs had intervened and saved humanity. When Adama asks what Iblis wants, the Count replies that he had promised the Colonial Warriors they woudl meet again, another time, another place. Baltar leads the Colonials to a safe place on the unknown planet: the site of the very first vessel that crashed there. Next to a large ship which appears to be mostly intact there are bones of many beings strewn around. Starbuck, Sheba and Apollo recognize their skulls as being the same as Count Iblis' true form. When Apollo asks Baltar where he has brought them, Baltar replies that this is a hell so terrible it frightenes even the devil.
Aboard the Galactica, Flight Corporal Rigel informs Colonel Tigh that scans have picked up the presence of Cylon Raiders and a Basestar. Tigh orders all available Vipers to prepare to repel the attack. Jolly is leading the Vipers but soon realizes that the Raiders are neither breaking formation or attacking. Instead, the Basestar is sending a signal to the Colonial Fleet requesting a truce. Lucifer is seeking sanctuary among the fleet.
