Synopsis[]

Aboard the Galactica, Colonel Tigh hands Adama a piece of paper reporting a faint S.O.S. from a Cylon assault vehicle using the new code. He thinks it could be Starbuck or Boomer, but Adama counters that it could also be a Cylon trap. However, he cannot imagine either of the two pilots would give up the code under pain of toture. He feels it is too risky to go back for them.

On Maytoria, Cylon centurions are loading their ships when there is a large explosion. The Sagittarian forces led by Boomer rush into the hangar shouting 'For Maytoria!" They destroy many of the Cylons, including many of them by using hand to hand combat. Freg spots a personel carrier, but is unexpectedly cut by one of the Cylons using the large knife mounted to it's pistol. Freg also receives a shot to his shoulder, but is rescued by Srep. Freg tells Boomer and Srep to leave him there, but they insists on helping him to the personnel transport. Srep is shot point blank and dies on the spot. Freg wants to take revenge on the Cylons, but Boomer tells him to think about his daughter and orders all of the Sagittarians to board the ship. Boomer is afraid he won't be able to pilot the Cylons hip, but Starbuck and Stadra appear out of nowhere. Starbuck brags about saving the girl, but it turns out Stadra did most of the swimming for both of them. Boomer promises his friend a medal for at least thinking of a way to escape the sunken Cylon tank.

Starbuck pilots the personal carrier out into the night sky, but they soon have four Cylon Raiders on their tail. Starbuck dumps some of the ship's cargo, which collides with one of the Raiders, and it in turn crashes into another and another. The final Raider crashes into a tower. Starbuck is very pleased with himself, but Stadra gets angry when she realizes he just made up this maneuvre on the spot without knowing if it would succeed. The Sagittarians pick up the rest of the survivors at the Grand Station. Young Jatu runs into the bloodied arms of her father, Freg. Soon, the vessel is in space and Freg tells Jatu to say goodbye to their home planet, Maytoria. Starbuck is congratulating himself and Boomer when Stadra hands over disc containing the entire Maytoria central library. Starbuck thanks her with a kiss on the cheek, saying she may jave just saved humanity.

On the bridge of the Galactica, Tigh informs Adama and Apollo that there have been no further signals from Maytoria, and that it would be unwize to return. Adama replies he will go no further than the rim to pick up any further S.O.S.'s. Athena announces there are Cylon forces in the quad. Adama tells all fighter to be on full alert and aks to scan the Cylon vehicle for life readings. Starbuck is unable to communicate with the Galactica, but the Galactica opens communications and suddenly both parties can see each others on their viewscreens. Adama gives them docking clearance, and Boomer requests a med team to meet them there as they are not alone. As the Sagittarians exit the Cylon ship, Dr. Salik and a medical crew are on hand. Cassiopeia and Athena are not very pleased to find Starbuck with his arm around Stadra, who tells Starbuck goodbye and leaves to find their new accomodations. Starbuck wants to retreat to the solitude of his cabin, but Apollo tells him that Commander Adama is planning a banquet in their honor.

At the banquet, Adama announces that the data revovered from Stadra's disk has brought them a giant step closer to finding Earth. He toasts the Maytorian people and Apollo tells them that the Cylon Carrier will be converted into a home so that they can join the convoy. Athena, Cassiopeia and Stadra are gossiping about Starbuck among themselves, which annoys him a great deal. Back aboard the Cylon ship, which is docked to the Galactica, golden Centurions and an IL-Series unit exit the remaining cargo containers. The IL tells the Centurions that they will bring glory to the empire. Starbuck and Stadra are taking a quiet stroll in the hangar, where he tells her that he's never had as strong feelings for any other women than her. They kiss, but suddenly, she is shot by laser fire from behind and dies in his arms. The IL unit tells his trooper toe exterminate them all.
