Synopsis[]
The female Sagittarian Forces leader helps Starbuck to his feet and introduces herself as Stadra Ah Mun. After Starbuck identifies himself to her compatriots, she tells him to revmove the Cylon armor he's wearing. Starbuck refuses, but she insists because there are tracking systems imbedded throughout. They take him to their makeshift stronghold, located in the basement of a trade center. Stadra explains that they will have to leave this place soon because of a lack of food and water. Her ailing father is lying on a bed. When she tells him the Battlestar Galactica has come to evacuate them, her father swears and guesses that Starbuck crashed on a scouting expedition instead. He points to another Colonial pilot who was brought in a few hours earlier, who revealed that the Galactica must be long gond by now. Starbuck tells Stadra he's sorry and she leaves in a huff. The other Colonial pilot is Boomer, with a large bandage covering one eye and most of his head. He is playing a winning hand of Pyramid, but leaves the game and his winnings when Starbuck approaches him.
Boomer recounts that he managed to get out of the cockpit of his crashed Viper, only to be confronted with a squad of Cylon Centurions. Apollo's Viper attacked the Cylons from the air, giving Boomer the chance to escape just when everything exploded all around him. Before passing out, he did see Starbuck's fighter going down. The Sagittarian Forces must have found him soun after. Boomer and Starbuck agree that Apollo probably thinks both of them are dead, and that the Colonial fleet must have left by now. Stadra appears behind them, having overheard their conversation. Starbuck gives her the unflattering nickname "Tanya Saint Quick-Temper, Queen of Eavesdropping". She asks the pilots how many Battlestars are left. Other Sagittarians join them and are shocked and surprised to learn that the Galactica is the only one still active.
Aboard the Galactica, Apollo is putting Boxey to bed. He ensures him that the Cylon's could never get aboard the Battlestar and threaten him or his mother. Boxey asks Apollo to not leave them again. Apollo and Serina reminisce about his days at the academy with Starbuck and Zach. She tells him to mourn his friend, but Apollo says that if he begins to mourn everyone he's lost, he's afraid he'll never recover. At the Sagittairan stronghold, Stadra has given a status report and now wants to decide how to move on. An older man has lost all hope and thinks all is lost. Starbuck thinks that if they can get a transport vessel of some sort, they may be able to catch up with the Galactica. A fighter named Danle Rel explains that all Colonial crafts have been destroyed. Stadra states that their group is less than two hundred in number, and the reason the Cylon's hit Maytoria so hard is because they know it's people are fierce and strong fighters. She rallies up her people to try and join the Galactica by stealing a Cylon Cargo ship. However, Starbuck and Boomer both think that would be suicide.
Suddenly, their base is under attack. Cylon Centurions break in, killing one of the Sagittarian guards. Starbuck and Boomer defend themselves and the Sagittarians while most of the civilians panic and run. Danle is shot by the Cylons while Stadra fires her pistol at them. She orders another one of her men, Freg, to hold the Cylons back as long as possible while she gets the civilians below. Boomer is cornered, so Starbucks draws the Cylons away from his friend and after himself. Boomer returns the favor by saving Starbuck from a Centurion. Then Stadra blasts the remaining Cylons with a single blast from a bazooka like weapon unknown to Boomer and Starbuck. Unfortunately, she has previous few charges left for it.
As they carry the wounded Danle to safety, he notices a small homing device pinned to Boomer's uniform jacket and concludes it to be the reason the Cylon's located them. He accuses Boomer of selling them all out.

Notes[]
- This story takes place between the original series episodes Saga of a Star World and Lost Planet of the Gods.
- The Earth measure of time 'hours' is used instead of 'centars'.
- In the previous issue, Starbuck watched the Cylons carry a seemingly lifeless Boomer from his Viper. In Boomer's version he was conscious enough to make a run for it when Apollo attacked the Cylons from the air, which is something Starbuck apparently didn't stick around for to watch.
