Synopsis[]

"Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair"[]

Jolly is still posing as the Aquarian ingestibles salesman 'Silenus' aboard the C.F.C. Burnham. The Virgo woman Ligea shows great interest in him, but Jolly cannot afford to be romantically distraced as he is on a mission. In his quarters, he meets his new roommate, an old man known as 'Pops', who claims to only own the clothes on his back and a photograph of his wife. When Jolly is alone, he sits down to memorize the blueprints of the Burnham in case of a pirate attack.

Colonel Tigh reports that the final loads of fruit from Jungleworld have been loaded onto container ships. Master-Tech Shadrack has reconstructed as much of the scout ship Starbuck took from Scavenge World as possible and has been scanning every inch of it in search of clues to the way to Earth. Boomer tells Apollo that Starbuck and Cassiopeia are heading to the Rising Star for some rest and relaxation. Boomer himself is heading to 'The Wall', a chamber on the Galactica where technicians can monitor any incoming message or sound. This is where Boomer remains in contact with Jolly.

At a meeting of the Quorum of Twelve, Adama announces that the fleet is almost ready to begin moving again. The Council members are skeptical as they still don't have any set course to find Earth. Adama is certain Shadrack will come through, but is warned by Illya that he is putting his status as supreme military commander on the line.

Aboard the Burnham, Jolly is surprised by Ligea in his sleeping quarters. But when both Ligea and Pops suddenly faint, Jolly realizes the quarters has been sprayed with knockout gas. He puts in nose plugs to counteract the effects and pretends to be knocked out when the armored pirates enter the room. One of the Raiders intends to steal the photograph of Pop's wife, but Jolly won't have that and knocks the Raider out. Jolly follows the pirates throught the ventilation system and spies om them as they steal the food-stuffs from the Burnham. He soon reports this to Boomer via the Wall, and asks him to check up on Ligea. Boomer discovers that Ligea is really Sire Uri's old girlfriend, Medea, who was given a new I.D. for her protection.

On the Galactica, Boxey wants to go with Starbuck to the Rising Star, but Athena comes to pick the boy up to go to school on the Potemkin instead. Apollo, Starbuck and Cassiopeia travel to the Rising Star by shuttle. Starbuck immediately starts gambling, but Apollo is not in the mood. When Cassiopea mentions that none of the millionaires in the fleet are present in the Rising Star's casino, Apollo suddenly gets an idea about what is going on and runs off.

Jolly finds himself confronted by security guards who accuse him of being a pirate. Pops agrees with them, and Jolly suspects that Media has betrayed him as well. When the guards find one of the knockout gas cilinders on him, Jolly is thrown into jail, but not before Media kisses him passionately. The guards strip Jolly of his clothes, but he still has microcircuits in his topknot braids with which he can just about manage to communicate with Boomer. Ligea/Medea arrives with a guard, kisses the man on the mouth and knocks him out. She was wearing di-phalamine lip gloss. She releases Jolly from his cel, then reveals her true identity to him as well as the fact that she knows he's really a Colonial warrior. Jolly retrieves his clothes, puts on a space helmet and exits the Burnham.
