Synopsis[]
"Trial and Error"[]
Starbuck watches the Colonial fleet leave Scavenge World and him behind with Eurayle as per their agreement. The Galactica finally exits the Void and returns to normal space. The Colonials are overjoyed and Adama sheds a tear upon hearing laughter from his people. Boxey is sad because Starbuck was left behind and decides to go find him himself. Together with Muffit, he sneaks off to find a Viper.
Adama informs Apollo that Sire Uri's trial is scheduled to begin in less than a centon. This way, the accusers don't have enough time to gather evidence and prepare a case. Adama tells his son to find Uri's second-in-command, Medea, and convince her to testify against Uri.
A party is going on on the Rising Star. There Apollo spots Medea wearing a hooded cloak trying not to get noticed as Uri's trial starts and is broadcast on a giant screen. Colonials watching the broadcast get riled up and angry at Uri, and when they spot Medea, want to cancel her then and there. Apollo jumps in between them and draws his weapon, saying that Medea is under Colonial protection. He gives her the choice of testifying before the tribunal or remaining on the Rising Sun with the angry party-goers.
Captain Que, the pilot who stole the Agro-Ship on Uri's orders is being questioned by the Council of Twelve, but his memory is very hazy. Meanwhile, Boxey and Muffit have arrived in a restricted area. Master-Tech Shadrack and all his men are wearing protective thermal suits because a thermal coupling has sprung a tylium leak and is causing temperatures to rise to a boiling point. But a determined Boxey runs right past Shadrack into the danger zone to get to a Viper.
The Council of Twelve, lacking substancial evidence against Uri, is about to declare him not guilty when Apollo runs into the chamber with Medea. She tells the tribunal of Uri's role in the theft of the Agro-Ship and the attempt on Adama's life, and before long, Uri is found guilty as charged. One of Shadrack's men arrives and calls Apollo away. After putting on a thermal suit, Apollo joins Shadrack and his men in a desperate search for Boxey and Muffit.
Boxey succumbs to the heat in an engine room at the heart of the Galactica, filled with turbines and tylium-powered stardrives. Muffit manages to grab Boxey's tunic and pull him away from the core, but it's fake fur and mechanical inside are no match for the burning heat and Muffit shuts down. Shadrack and Apollo find Boxey and wrap him in a thermal blanket. Apollo tells Boxey that Muffit has secrificed himself for him as he carries Boxey away. Shadrack picks up the remains of Muffit and follows them.
