Battlestar Galactica: Cylon War Issue 3 is an issue of Battlestar Galactica: Cylon War.
Plot[]
Caprica begins mass-producing a new Centurion army to be used against the Sagittarons, and it is hoped they will be used quickly should the Sagittarons be able to replicate their success. Sagittaron is expecting the attack, and its ships are armed with nuclear weaponry to counter the Capricans. Caprican intelligence uncovers this, and their own ship arm with nuclear weapons as well. At the same time, peace talks are underway over Picon, mediated by the Picon Prime Minister. The Caprican and Sagittaron guards each analyse the situation, predicting all twelve worlds to go to war. In a similar way to Izak, they conclude they have been chosen by God to punish mankind, and begin secret communications with one another.
The Caprican and Sagittaron fleets begin their assaults, as expected. Caprica's military destroys Sagittaron's feetyards, while the Sagittarons bomb the cities of Caprica. The two fleets meet up in the space between the two colonies and mutually demand the other's surrender. The two quickly begin destroying one another, unaware which ships fired first. Eon's weapons and navigation systems stop working, and the crew reports the Caprican fleet have spontaneously began targeting the smaller Sagittaron ships instead of their destroyers, with the Sagittaron ships also firing on those craft. Eon is boarded by Sagittaron Robots, who are hacking into the ship's computer, and succeed in flushing crewmen into space. Hamilton's prosthetic arm suddenly comes alive and chokes her to death before she can shut down the ship's computers. A group of Caprican Robots attack CIC but are destroyed. The crew reports that a Caprican ship, Tityus, was destroyed by another Caprican ship.
Faced with a universal Robot uprising, Tanner prepares a nuclear missile for launch, intending it to detonate in space and fry the electronics of any Robots. The plan is transmitted out to all Caprica and Sagittaron ships but intercepted by the Robots. Though the simultaneous nuclear detonations short-circuit most of the Robots, others have survived and continue to control several ships. Tanner offers an immediate cessation of hostilities and an alliance against the Robots.
