Synopsis[]
Apollo wonders where Starbuck is, as there is a flight breifing in one centar. Boomer tells him that Starbuck has apparently taken a shuttle to the Rising Star. Apollo is not amused. Aboard the Rising Star, Starbuck is trading three cases of soil-grown Mushies for a ring with genuine Geminese sapphires. But when the trader, Tassos, inquires if Starbuck is serious about a certain (former) socialator, Starbuck gets angry and drops the price down to two cases of Mushies. Commander Adama is adressing the Viper Pilots and explains that all of their ships has been outfitted with missles carrying the Cylon Nano-Cybrid by Dr. Wilker. Colonel Tigh adds that when the Cylons come into contact with the Nano-Cybrid, their steel turns to flesh and their thoughts to chaos. They need to have an element of surprise because the Cylons are aware they posess this weapon. Therefore, Adama announces that the Galactica is going to lightspeed. The pilots are surprised, and Giles states that the ship hasn't engaged the hypervelocity drives in over twenty yahrens. Starbuck arrives fashionably late, as Boomer predicted, and insists that the Galactica will make it, listing several other high stake situations it has survived.
Apollo scolds Starbuck on his late arrival, but Starbuck insists on paying attention to Adama. The Commander explains that all Viper squadrons will be deployed, and that the mainframe in the city of Tessida has to be taken out to make sure that any surviving Cylons are unable to mount a defense. At that moment, in Tessida, Viceroy Abbadon confronts a captive IL unit named Belial, whom he refers to as 'the infidel'. Belial is the one who attempted to replace the Cylon steel with flesh by using a Nano-Cybrid. Abbadon tells Belial his plans have failed. Belial asks to be released so he can refine it. He admits that he does not know why he chose to do what he did other than his conclustion that flesh was the next logical step to make the Cylon order greater than it is. Belial wonders why his consciousness has not yet been deleted. Abbadon replies that the Colonials are now in possession of the Nano-Cybrid and plan to use it against the Cylons. He demands to know if Belial has a way to neutralize it. Belial says he does not and Abbadon leaves.
The Colonial Fleet is on high alert. All non-essential personal must leave the Galactica until further notice. This includes Boxey and Muffit. Boxey objects to being 'non-essential personnel'. Boxey wants to be one of the Warriors defending the fleet, but Apollo tells him they need to grow old and gray. Boxey innocently replies that his father will never seem old to him before the shuttle door closes and he leaves the Galactica. Starbusk is practicing his speech to Cassiopeia. When she arrives, he apologises his past behaviour and wants to take out the ring, but she refuses to believe that he really feels sorry, and states that that may actually be the reason she loves him, despite of her better instincts. Instead of presenting the ring, he kisses her instead and runs off.
When the Galactica arrives at the Cylon planet, it is immediately detected. Adama orders all Vipers to be launched. The Vipers engage the enemy. Adama orders them to fire fusion missiles at the planet. Appolo announces that he and Starbuck will take the mainframe. Viceroy Abbadon is tracking the amount of missiles that have found their targets. He learns that Centurions on the ground as well as aboard Cylon Raiders are becomming infected. This leads to Raiders crashing into buildings and chaos in the streets. The Vipers have deployed all their payloads. The last to do so are Starbuck and Apollo with their special delifery vor the Cylon Mainframe. They score a direct hit, but Starbuck's Viper is also damaged by fire from a Cylon Raider. Adama sounds general retreat. The Galactica will rejoin the fleet and let the Nano-Cybrid do its work. Apollo says he saw Starbuck ejecting from his Viper with a parachute and that he can't leave him, but Adama orders him to return to the Galactica. Apollo reluctantly complies.

Notes[]
- Giles says that the battlestar hasn't gone to lightspeed in over twenty yahren. However, it did do just that at the Battle of Cimtar in Saga of a Star World. This appears to be a mistake, referring to a claim made by Saul Tigh to William Adama in the first miniseries of the Re-imagined series.
- Boxey mentions the Ravishol Pulsar on Arcta (The Gun on Ice Planet Zero), to which Apollo replies that Boxey is still grounded for stowing away in a Snowram. This is news to Boxey, as he mentions events from The Magnificent Warriors and Fire in Space as well. After Boxey's shuttle leaves, Appolo refers to his adopted son as "Troy".
- Starbuck apologises to Cassiopeia for events that happened in The Long Patrol and Murder on the Rising Star.
- Sheba refers to the Cylons as "walking tea kettles".
- Apollo's line "We've lost Tyrie and Hutch!" is a reference to a line in the Battle of Yavin in the original "Star Wars" (1977) "Lost Tiree, lost Hutch".
