Dr. Amarak was a government scientist working for the United Colonies of Kobol's Colonial Ministry of Defense, and worked on defence research alongside Dr. Gaius Baltar.

Biography[]

Dr. Amarak was traveling on board the Olympic Carrier at the time of the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. The ship rendezvoused with President Roslin's civilian fleet, and later departed from the Cyrannus star system altogether after meeting up with the Battlestar Galactica. Five days after the attacks, Dr. Amarak made an urgent call to Colonial One and, through the President's secretary Billy, was scheduled for a meeting with the President. Based on the schedule transcripts, he had uncovered important information as to how the Cylons were able to hack into Dr. Baltar's CNP and, based on the questionable testimony of the Messenger Six, was suspicious of Baltar before the attack.[1]

After two hundred and seventy seven jumps taking place every thirty-three minutes, the Olympic Carrier's FTL drive failed, and everyone on board were either killed by a Centurion boarding-party or otherwise taken to the hold when the ship was piloted into the fleet with nuclear explosives and subsequently destroyed.[1]

Further notes[]

Amarak was first referred to in the episode 33, the first episode of the first season of Battlestar Galactica. Whether or not Amarak actually survived the destruction of the Colonies, or if his name was merely being used by the Cylons for their own gain, is unclear.
