2004 Continuity

The 1942 Maglev bombing was a terrorist bombing committed by a breakaway Soldiers of The One cell.

Background[]

In 1932, the Soldiers of The One ended its campaign on Caprica, and peace continued for the remainder of the decade with cells under the planetary control of Sister Clarice Willow. During this time factions slowly emerged between conservative factions under Willow which aimed at recruiting a militant proselyte force and radicals under cell leader Barnabas Greeley which wanted to begin a holy war. In a bid to gain control of Caprica's cells, Greeley broke ranks and drew plans for a new bombing campaign in Caprica City designed to both put fear in the public and to demonstrate Willow's lack of leadership to the Gemenese leadership. Reaching out to other cells to coordinate campaigns, Greeley was able to recruit several children from Athena Academy, the school Willow worked at. Students Keon Gatwick and Ben Stark built a number of bombs for the faction, which were primarily used on Holocafés after ours, striking fear without any casualties.

Bombing[]

In early 1942, Willow ordered Stark's girlfriend Zoe Graystone to deliver her "Avatar Program" to Gemenon, which was to serve as a new recruiting tool ahead of a massive terrorist operation. Hoping to runaway from home and live there, Graystone talked Stark and their friend Lacy Rand into the plan. Possibly to undermine Willow's leadership, Greeley ordered Stark to blow himself up instead with a vest made by Gatwick. On the day of the attack, as planned, the three students ditched school and took the Maglev bound for the nearby spaceport, though Rand herself changed her mind and returned home rather than board it. Soon after the train's departure, Stark blew himself up after giving a declaration on behalf of the One True God.[1]
